On 26 Jan 2019, RAW Moves celebrated Light to Night Festival - Traces and Echos of Our Past, at ACM. In BOUND (excerpts), the artists of RAW Moves, inspired by the humble rubber band and memories of "zero point", pulled and pushed boundaries within themselves. 

Remembering presented by RAW Moves & A Little RAW Company, saw our young performers dance through a kaleidoscopic timeline, capturing a tableau of events and years through movement. We had the honour of having Senior Minister of State Ms Sim Ann with us.

Walk down interesting and imaginative pathways with us! In this movement workshop inspired by Shel Silverstein’s timeless collection of poems and drawings, “Where the Sidewalk Ends”, children will stimulate their imagination and develop creativity through movement. This session will promote learning and cognitive development through physical movement.

PAssion Arts Festival

25 Parent-Child participants from 3 PCF centres were invited to participate in a one-day workshop to discover the joys of bonding through craft making, dance exploration and composition to create their own "Star Dance", which was performed as part of BOUND (excerpts) at "Arts of Wonder 2" - PAssionArts Festival 2018, Nanyang CACC, 28 July 2018. Guest-of-Honour Mr Yeo Chia Hsing, Grassroots Advisor to Nanyang GROS, MP for Choa Chu Kang GRC was invited to grace the occasion.

Got To Move: Masterclass and The Fleeting Moment Open Rehearsal

As part of Got To Move 2015, a nationwide movement organised by National Arts Council to celebrate dance and to get everyone in Singapore moving, free Contemporary dance masterclasses (both beginner and professional level) were conducted by Italian artist-in-residence, Teresa Ranieri.

 

The open rehearsal for The Fleeting Moment presented excerpts of the creation and engaged audience in an intimate dialogue session where creative approaches and insights were shared by the creative team.

Held in conjunction with the company’s Repertory Platform (R.e.P) season, the pre-performance sharing at library@esplanade features an excerpt from Taiwanese choreographer Chang Chien- Hao’s thought-provoking Floating Box that explores the transformation of personal relationships through a series of tableaux, while Ebelle Chong shares her work process on her intriguing SSLD: 7 through facilitating a session with RAW Moves dancers as well as with the audience.

CHIJ SJC — R.e.P 13

An adaptation of the production of R.e.P 2013 - Triple Bill was brought to CHIJ St Joseph’s Convent. Unlike the conventional mode of presentation of performances, the students were introduced to concepts of dance appreciation and the choreographic insights behind the creation of the three dance works, namely Helix, S.P.E.A.K.I.N.G, and Tease, before watching excerpts of them. There was also a post-performance dialogue between the students and RAW Moves dancers to facilitate an enhanced understanding and appreciation of the experience.

Arts in the heartlands

2012

RAW Moves partnered with Bishan Community Club to bring the arts to the heartlands at a convenient location and affordable prices. The event took place at the Bishan Community Club on 2 and 3 November 2012. The programme catered to a diverse group of participants, ranging from school children of primary to tertiary education levels, senior citizens and also parents with children. Part of the programme was made up of a performance platform, Raw Artistic Platform, which showcased original works choreographed by RAW Moves dancers, thus carving out a space to nurture the next generation of choreographers.
